Unreal Marketplace
So what is the Marketplace and why do we need it?
Let us say we are creating an action game that is set in the forest like Far Cry 5. There would be so many steps to creating the various landscapes and interiors.
- Firstly we would need to make 3D models of different types of trees, grass, wooden bridges, forest houses and so forth in a 3D modelling software like Blender or Maya. You’d need to understand how to use these tools.
- Then we would need to import those models into our Unreal software. There are multiple steps.
Here’s the shortcut:
What happens if you do not have 3D modelling skills to make yourself all those 3D models, or maybe you feel like it would take too much time and you want speedy results. This is where you would make use of the Marketplace.

You can access the Marketplace on your Epic Games platform. The marketplace is an online store where you can find free and paid assets that you can easily put in your game without you having to make them yourself. Thus we will use the marketplace to get 3D models of furniture that we will add in our house.
