A computer to understand us
We are going to assume that by now you know that in as much as programming is like talking to the computer, it is not the same as a conversation between two people who speak and understand the same language. It would be nice if we could just say “computer, make that robotic hand cook me a lasagna dish!”. Not only is that vague, but even if you have a robotic hand connected to your PC right now, saying that won’t achieve anything.
Firstly, we need a medium, something between you and the computer that will mediate your ideas and get the computer to understand you – that is an IDE (Integrated Development Environment)
