Branches of AI
In this topic we’ll learn more about what AI is by looking at the different branches we have of AI. The process of building an AI is not all just about building a robot like C-3P0 (the gold humanoid robot in Star Wars), it involved different disciplines and from that we get a lot of different types of AI.Â

In most cases, one system can have a combination of these different branches – overlaps. For example, your virtual assistant (Google, Siri, Alexa, etc) uses Speech Recognition to detect your voice and then convert it into text, it then uses Natural Language Processing to make sense of what you are saying using Machine Learning algorithms and then uses Text-to-Speech technology to give you an appropriate response. These systems also use machine learning to recognise patterns so that they can better understand you.Â
