The Story
This course is about building an intelligent system that can be used as a virtual assistant at different colonies around the galaxy.
83 years into the future…
We have colonies scattered all over the universe and one of them is located on Mars.
“Eureka! It works!” These are the words that echoed from the design lab at Elit Co. “3DM is alive!!”, they shouted. The Data Driven Decision Maker (3DM, get it?) works was born.
3DM is an intelligent system (an AI). 3DM will have to make decisions like humans do and be able to communicate those decisions at a human level on these adventures.
Your task in this course...build a chatbot
Right now the residences of these colonies are doing all the administrative tasks, like assigning roles, tasks to do, records of supply and etc. Our task in this course is to build/train 3DM so that it:
- communicates effectively with humans – i.e. takes what you are saying, figures out its meaning contextually, responds back with valuable, sensible output like a human would. This will be done through a Chatbot/Virtual Assistant.
- make decisions using data that it has been provided with to make the lives of the people on Mars easy.
By the way…
This is a foreshadowing to a story that’s in the course that follows (SQL Database). The main objective in that course is for you to teach our AI how to do SQL queries. And you must train it to make decisions because that’s what is expected of it in the next course.
